Information about library's e-book services and instructions how to use them

Library's e-book services

Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences Library acquires e-books mainly for students and staff at Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK).

You can read e-books both in library premises and on computers at university network.


Remote access to e-books

The degree students and the staff members of SeAMK have access to library's e-books even outside the university network, for instance at home or on mobile devices through remote use. Use your SeAMK university username and password to log in. Downloading e-books on your mobile device is also possible.


User rights, loan periods and required software

Library acquires e-books from many different vendors, either in large packages or as individual titles. Therefore, the access rights, ways of reading, loan periods and required software may vary. Some e-books can be read by many users at the same time, some only one reader at a time.

The user rights of e-resources are specified in licence agreements. Normally, you may only use e-resources for the purposes of education, teaching, research and private study. Any commercial use is strictly prohibited.

Where do I find e-books?

  • Individual e-books can be found in library's SeAMK-Finna web service
  • You can browse e-book collections also on vendors'  web pages. E-book collections that SeAMK Library has purchased are presented in this guide under the E-book services tab.

In SeAMK-Finna you can narrow search results to e-books and publications available online by clicking the options at the left

  • Narrow search -> Available online
  • Content type -> eBook

NB! If you are about to open an e-book link for the first time, take a look at the detailed instructions of each service in this guide. It may be necessary to download a special software to read an e-book.
