Keenious is centrally installed in the Word software for the staff of SeAMK. In order to use Keenious in Word, the user must add Keenious to Word under the add-ins tab. You can find it on the right-hand side of the toolbar. Keenious will then run in both the desktop and cloud versions of Word.
SeAMK students add Keenious to Word with these English instructions.
The advantage of Keenious Word is that the author can search for related material at different stages of the article writing process. They can also select a specific text passage and search for related material. Using Keenious with Word gives more benefits, as you can use your own text as a basis for analysis. The basic principle is that when you open a document/type a text, Keenious analyses it and suggests relevant material in the same way as in the browser version. Advanced search, such as filtering and subject search work in the same way in Word as in the browser version.
Open the document/write text, click on the Keenious button, click on "Explore using text". If you have opened a pdf in Word, click on "Explore using pdf". You can then continue in the same way as in the browser version.
If you use Google Docs, see more detailed instructions on how to add Keenious to Google Docs.
