This guide is based on the Keenious search tool guide of the University of Helsinki.
Keenious plus is an AI-based tool that allows you to search for similar or related articles based on either an article or written text.
Keenious runs in either a web browser or both in Word and Google Docs applications.
The AI analyses a selected passage from the article or a written text or from the downloaded article, and recommends similar or related content. Keenious application works for all disciplines. Its data comes from OpenAlex. However, Keenious does not use all OpenAlex datasets, but deletes those missing the author's name, DOI or publication date.
If the article is not available open access, Keenious will search for it in the SeAMK Library's e-resources.
Students and staff of Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences have access to the fee-based Keenious plus tool until December 31st, 2025. Access to the Keenious plus is activated with a Microsoft login. Use your SeAMK email address to create an account. You will receive a confirmation email and a code to log in. No password is required for the service. Once logged in, you can use all the features of Keenious plus. After creating an account, the tool is available at https://keenious.com.
Other than students and staff of SeAMK can create a free account at https://keenious.com. The free version has more limited features. Keenious works without a separate login for now, but it is recommended to create an account for oneself, as one can save bookmarks there and export them to reference manager programs.
