Library offers you many journal databases which are useful for finding and accessing scientific articles for your written work. Here you'll find a list of journal databases for your studies. Search by journal title or by subject.

Journals

Trade and scientific journals and newspapers are good sources for timely information

  • You can check the availability of the journal in SeAMK-Finna. It shows you if the library has purchased the journal either in printed or electronic form.
  • List of printed and electronic journals can be found in SeAMK-Finna.
  • You can read printed journals at the library. Printed journals are not available for loan. It's possible to make photocopies in the library. You can also scan articles to your email or flash drive. Photocopies cost but scanning is free of charge.
  • E-journals are available for students and staff of Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences. You can use them at the university's computer network and through remote access on your mobile devices and computers at home.

Browse library's electronic journals in BrowZine's digital collection

BrowZine is a digital collection of international e-journals acquired for the students and staff at SeAMK. It also includes open access electronic journals.

The first time, you only need to select "Seinajoki University of Applied Sciences" as the library.

You can browse e-journals by subject without logging in. The journals are divided into 12 subject areas, for example

  • Biological Sciences
  • Biomedical and Health Sciences
  • Business and Economics
  • Engineering and Technology
  • Social Science and Behavioral Science

You can also search e-journals by title, by subject or by ISSN number.

If the service asks for credentials when you go to read the article, log in remotely with your SeAMK username and password.

Both printed and electronic journals subscribed to the library can be found via SeAMK-Finna's Browse for list of journals search.

Follow journals in your field and save articles to your own bookshelves in BrowZine

When you create your own BrowZine account, you can save your favourite journals to your own bookshelf and receive email notifications when a new issue is published.BrowZine display on different devices.

You can save articles for future reference, export references to reference management software and share articles by email.

Use of BrowZine is optional. To use your own account, you need to register for the service. You can use an email address of your choice. The information you provide to BrowZine is stored on servers located in the United States. By using this service, you agree to BrowZine’s Privacy Policy.

A dedicated mobile app is also available for BrowZine. You can download it on Third Iron's web pages

Search e-journals

BrowZine is especially useful for finding library's international electronic journals, so use English search terms. You can search for Finnish e-journals subscribed to the library and open access Finnish journals by name.

Instructions for searching journals in SeAMK-Finna

Search printed and electronic journals on library's web service SeAMK-Finna! You can search by journal title or browse the journal list. You will find out if the journal is available in electronic or printed form.

  • Click Search Functions from drop-down menu and choose Browse for list of journals
  • Search by journal title or subject
  • Browse journal list, you can narrow your search results e.g. by organisation, science or topic on the menus left

How to search for books and journals on SeAMK Finna?

Direct access to the article with LibKey Nomad

LibKey Nomad's Article Link logo.When searching for international articles and e-books online, you can run into a paywall. With LibKey Nomad browser extension, you can quickly find out whether you can still access the resource as a member of SeAMK through library’s e-resources.

When you install the LibKey Nomad extension on your web browser, it will tell you if the resource you have found is available through the library and provide a link to the PDF version of the article  or a link to e-book. If the service asks you to log in, please log in remotely using your SeAMK credentials.

DOI (digital object identifier) is a persistent and unique identifier of an electronic scholarly article. Example of DOI: 10.1016/j.fas.2020.05.008

PMID is PubMed database's unique identification number. Example of PMID: 25435309
